One treadle saw, two shift spanners, one metal guide. Foot powered circular saw with tilting top. Driven by a leather belt connected to two drive wheels. One attached to the blade, the other to the treadle. Has two shift spanners and a detached metal guide for the piece of wood to be cut. The guide fitted appears to be a later addition for safety and as a better guide for the wood being cut. The detached frame or arm has an unknown purpose. Foot of treadle saw embossed: "JARDINE, NOTTM." Small spanner embossed on one side: "3/4". Imprinted on the other side: "PATENT / N319234/1940/ 7". Large spanner imprinted: "8 8" on claw Imprinted: "EDELSTEN / & SON" on handle.
