Description
Perambulator - large, cane work and canvas, painted cream. Small container for the baby.
Wooden base, metal frame painted white, unpainted twisted metal (possibly brass) handles reaching up to handle bar, metal wheels with black rubber coating on outside, cream ceramic handle bars, canvas fold down hood unpainted on inside and painted on exterior. Vinyl lining over interior of base held in place by silver metal studs, small oblong shaped opening in interior base. Blue and cream striped cotton fabric covered mattress.

Brief History
Prams, or perambulators, were first made in the Victorian era; this one is believed to date from the 1870s making it a very early example. Early prams were not very manoeuvrable and had no suspension. Wicker or cane was a very popular material in these early Victorian models.
