Description
Camera, Sands & Hunter. The camera is large, with leather bellows and a wooden frame.
Lens: Rapid Rectilinear.
Shutter: Sands' Patent shutter, this is a combined shutter and diaphragm. It is either an instantaneous shutter with 8 variable speeds (marked 0 - 7), or a variable diaphragm marked 0 - 64 with the shutter set at B and the lens cap used to time the exposure. Spring powered, spring tension regulated, double guillotine type.
Construction: Spanish mahogany, dovetail joints, brass fittings. Leather bellows with square corners.
Format: 8 ½ " x 6 ½" plates held in double dark-slides.
Focusing: Bellows. Double extension, rack and pinion (straight cut) movement to inner frame.
Attributes: 'Meagher' side support.
Movements: Rise and cross front. Swing and tilt to back.

Sold as the S&H Exhibition Camera, it is fitted with Sands' Patent Shutter. The lens is original consisting of two tubes fitting either side of the shutter and having no diaphragm.
