7-inch, 33⅓ rpm, EP record. Commissioned by Air New Zealand "Music from Rarotonga".
1. Cover: Square, Front of record cover is a colour photo of Women and Men in traditional clothing giving a performance, with the title in orange, yellow, white and purple "Music from / Rarotonga / AIR NEW ZEALAND". Back: Has small photo of coconut trees, diagram of Air New Zealand flight destinations and the text for the album description "Recorded and produced by Keith Southern (P) 1973 Viking Records.".
2. Sleeve: Off white wax paper, square with circular hole in centre.
3. Record: Black vinyl record with turquoise coloured circular labels in centre of both sides. Side 1: "Music / from / Rarotonga / AIR NEW ZEALAND / 1 Rarotonga Te Enua / 2 Aue Te Okotai Anga Tau / 3 Drums of the Cook Islands / By arrangement / with Viking Records"; Side 2: "Music / from / Rarotonga / AIR NEW ZEALAND / 4 The Premier's Song / 5 Ute / 6 Te Takake Nei Tatou / By arrangement / with Viking Records".
Brief History
This record commissioned by Air New Zealand and produced by Viking Records contains music of Rarotonga, one of the airline's Pacific destinations.

Viking Records was a local New Zealand recording company based in Wellington. It was established in the late 1950s by Murdoch Riley who had previous experience in the New Zealand Broadcasting Service and at Radio Corporation NZ's TANZA recording label. The Viking label featured local musicians with a strong focus on Māori and Pacific artists and content.
