Description
Lambretta Scooter, 1952.
Brief History
The Lambretta scooter was the brainchild of Italian businessman Ferdinando Innocenti. His successful company made a variety of products based on pipes and tubing. After World War II (1939-45), Innocenti saw a need for an inexpensive vehicle that allowed people to get around quickly, and this was the Lambretta.
Lambrettas became highly popular during the 1950s as a cheap, fun means of transport. The Lambretta 150D was first produced in December 1951. It was a low-cost model, and its simple design was made of tubular steel.
