Description
Cinema film projector used with 35mm film, made by Kinoton GmbH, model FP 30D, Germany. Includes upright projector stand, lamp unit and power unit. Projector stand is model FP 30D. Tall upright metal body with two black feet brackets with adjustable tilt. Three protruding rollers, two from rear and one in front. Lens unit has two lenses, "VP Cinelux 1/2,0/33,3...35,9MM / Unlock Lock" by Schneider - KREUZNACH. Second lens made by "ISCO-OPTIC Germany / CINEMASCOPE Ultra-Star" with "SCO-Optic 955367 F=55mm-2.7in." at other end. Has one red on/off switch and 6 green buttons on rear and one red stop button and one orange "POS" button. Lamp unit has large metal frame with two circular openings one which attaches directly against lens unit on projector stand. Circular vent with metal grill over the top. Two metal plates on either side with multi-language caution plate on one side (English, German and French). Interior of opening has one large cone shaped mirror or lens. Rear of one side has a small grey socket with orange cords for power supply.
Power unit is IREM N3 "Rectifier power supply for Xenon arc lamp." Metal rectangular unit with blue front and a plastic turning wheel on top with directional markings + and -. Two black plastic handles on either side of unit and a metal box with hose protruding from button with on/off switch on the top.
Used with a 3 phase synchronisation motor and 7000W lamp.

Brief History
The FP 30D film projector was developed in the 1970s and was Kinoton's most popular model. Kinoton's film projectors, manufactured in Germany, were used internationally.
This projector was purchased new by Hoyts Cinemas NZ in the 1990s and used at Takapuna Hoyts Cinema until it was decommissioned in 2015. It was one of the last 35mm film projectors used by Hoyts in New Zealand.
