Description

Radio receiver unit from a RNZAF Sunderland flying boat. Complete with power unit and R-2A/ARR-3 Sono Buoy receiver, circa 1930.

Brief History

This equipment was used on Short Sunderland flying boats operated by the Royal New Zealand Air Force. It was made obsolete when the RNZAF replaced flying boats with the Lockheed P-3 Orion. It is currently represented on MOTAT's Sunderland NZ4115.
