Description
Small earthenware bottle in the shape of a two storied building with a chimney. It is decorated in brown outline on a cream background as Brown & Kerr, Watchmaker & Jewellers. Marked on base with koru logo and "AIR NEW ZEALAND".
Brief History
This bottle is one of a series designed by Janet Scoones for Air New Zealand and mastered by Glen Eden pottery, Ceragraphics. It is thought that more than one pottery produced these 1980s whiskey miniatures. They were giveaway novelty liquor bottles for customers flying first class on Air New Zealand. The series included around 11 designs, each commemorating a local New Zealand service or business. This one commemorates Nelson jeweller, Brown & Kerr, established in the 19th century.
