Commemorative Cup and Saucer [Air New Zealand 75th Anniversary].
Teacup: Round ceramic teacup, light teal coloured with brown taniwha design stripe design on either side, handle is in shape of triangle. Maker's mark on base "Steiner / Ceramics / Handmade in New Zealand / 75 YEARS / AIR NEW ZEALAND".
Saucer: Round ceramic plate, light teal coloured with brown taniwha design stripe design. Depression in centre for teacup. Maker's mark on base "Steiner / Ceramics / Handmade in New Zealand / 75 YEARS / AIR NEW ZEALAND".
Box: Cardboard box, square, coloured black on exterior and white on interior, text and picture in white. Box is labelled "A STAR ALLIANCE MEMBER / 75 YEARS / AIR NEW ZEALAND / Cup and / Saucer" on front. On inside cover: "Made by Bob Steiner, / a renowned New Zealand / ceramic artist, to celebrate / the Air New Zealand 75th / Anniversary in 2015. / This piece was inspired by / Crown Lynn's production / of fine china produced for / Air New Zealand first class / passengers on the DC-8 / in 1965. / The Maori motif is a / reproduction of the / elaborately-carved / "tohora" or whale which / traditionally appeared on / the fascia boards of the / tribal storehouses. / It signifies "abundance". / Steiner / Ceramics / Handmade in New Zealand"
