Edward, Prince of Wales (later Edward VIII) sailed to New Zealand on HMS Renown for a Royal Tour of New Zealand.
HMS Renown with Edward arrived in Auckland on the 24th April 1920.

The photo shows the battlecruiser HMS Renown, either during her first visit to New Zealand in 1920 or during her second visit in 1927. The ship is definitely not the single-funneled light cruiser Achilles.
