Description
1. Packaging: Circular soap canister with metal base, white cardboard tube and open at top. Labelling and image in black and white. Labelled "MCLEOD / HIMSELF PRESENTS HIS / SPECIALTY / SOAP / Composed of the Most / Fragrant & Costly Extracts." Picture of gentleman in top hat, with bowtie, waistcoat, tailcoat etc sitting on ornate chair with carpet bag beside him on the floor. "Made in the Colony of New Zealand / By McLeod Bros. Ltd., 336 Cumberland St. Dunedin." The image and upper labelling is repeated on the opposite side of canister which also contains a barcode and label at lower edge "Contents: 467g Tablets Net When Packed." Down the opposite sides of the canister in lettering 90degrees to the main label is written "The Praises of McLeod Brothers' Soaps / & Candles are Echoed Everywhere & / Their Reputation as Soap Makers Since / 1868 Has Not Been Surpassed."
