7 Mounted Medal on metal backing with black felt covering and silver pin.
Medals from Left to right:
1.Medal [Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire]: Silver Cross (with blue enamelled insert) with circular emblem in centre in red and gold, marked "FOR GOD AND THE EMPIRE", reverse: "GJR" with crown. Crown attached to top of medal with metal loop above. Ribbon of rose-gray, edged with narrow stripes of pearl grey with a narrow central stripe of pearl-grey.

2. The Air Force Cross: Silver Cross with 'winged' shield surround. Centre depicts Man with trident and wreath riding a large bird. Crown depicted on upper portion of medal with each arm of cross marks with either "G" "I" "VI" or "R". Ribbon of medal is red and white striped with white edging. Reverse of medal marked "GRJ / 1918" "1942"

3. The Africa Star: The ribbon is pale buff in colour, with a central vertical red stripe, and narrower stripes, one dark blue and the other light blue. Medal is gold coloured 6 pointed star with initials of the King in centre "GRJ / VI / THE AFRICA STAR".

4. The Defence Medal: The centre of the ribbon is flamed-coloured, and the edges are green, symbols of the enemy attacks on Great Britain. Two black stripes represent the blackout in Great Britain. Silver coloured round medal with the uncrowned effigy of King George VI, marked "GEORGIVS VI D:G:ER:OMN:REX F:D:IND:IMP.". On the reverse are two lions flanking an oak sapling and a crown. The start and end years of the Second World War are at the sides (1939 on the left and 1945 on the right), and wavy lines representing the sea are below the lions. The words "THE DEFENCE / MEDAL" appear below the wavy lines.

5. The War Medal 1939-1945: The ribbon is the red, white, and blue of the (British) Union Flag. There is a narrow central red stripe with a narrow white stripe on either side. There are broad red stripes at either edge, the two intervening stripes being blue. Silver coloured round medal with the crowned effigy of King George VI on one side, marked "GEORGIVS VI D:G:ER:OMN:REX ET INDIAE IMP.". On the reverse is a triumphant lion trampling on a dragon symbolising the Axis powers, marked "1939 / 1945"

6. The Coronation Medal 1953: The ribbon is Red with two blue stripes in cente. The medal is silver and round. It depicts the effigy of a crowned Queen Elizabeth on the obverse with her seal on the reverse. "QUEEN ELIZABETH II CROWNED 2ND JUNE 1955 / EIIR"

7. Legion of Merit, Officer (USA): on a wreath of green laurel joined at the bottom by a gold bow-knot (rosette), a five-pointed white star bordered crimson, points reversed with v-shaped extremities tipped with a gold ball. In the center, a blue disk encircled by gold clouds, with 13 white stars arranged in the pattern that appears on the Great Seal of the United States. Between each star point, within the wreath, are crossed arrows pointing outwards. The pendant has a suspension ring at the top which connects to an oval suspension ring at the neck ribbon that is 49 mm in width. The reverse of the five-pointed star is enameled in white, and the border is crimson. In the center, a disk for engraving the name of the recipient surrounded by the words "ANNUIT COEPTIS MDCCLXXXII." An outer scroll contains the words "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.". A gold replica of the medal, 19 mm wide, is centered on the suspension ribbon
