Description
Mitsubishi Auto Cube-62 microwave oven, model RA-C6 2. Microwave frequency 2450MHz.
Brief History
Microwave ovens developed out of experimentation with magnetrons during American military research in WWII. The first commercial microwave oven became available in 1947, with the first domestic version following in 1955. It was not until later in the 1960s however that microwaves began to become popular in America. Microwave ovens appeared in New Zealand kitchens in the 1970s.
Mitsubishi Electric began manufacturing microwaves in 1985, and in 1988 launched the Cube, its unique cube shape designed to maximise space in the kitchen. This example was purchased in 1988 for domestic use.

When my 12 year old Parmco microwave stopped working a couple of months ago I brought my Mitsubishi Cube RA 611 back into the kitchen and it is working faultlessy. In those days they did not manufacture goods with built-in obsolescence. Well done Mitsubishi.
