Gas Wagon - E3751 - 4-wheeled wagon. Wooden platform wagon with large cylindrical gas tank mounted on top.
E1 is the only surviving 4-wheeled gas wagon. This wagon was formerly used for refilling gas tanks of gas-lit passenger carriages at country stations.
Originally classified as W273, built 03/02/1923 at Petone Workshops (bod:BP X. 3822). Reclassified 10/11/1934 to WA.273, w/off 21/04/1962 at Otahuhu Shops. Brief History
E1 is the only surviving 4-wheeled gas wagon. This wagon was formerly used for refilling gas tanks of gas-lit passenger carriages at country stations. The wagon was filled in Auckland or other gas producing centres before going to county stations, such a Taumarunui.
