A working layout of photographs stuck to paper, captioned 'Semi-Finalists in N.Z. Championship.' On the layout players are identified: C. R. Gribble, R. Somers, O. R. Arkell, S. Farrelly, G. Taylor, J. Tabner, P. Rollins, E. Brady, T. Nolan, and J. Evans. Small notes in the margin are also present. This layout accompanied an article on the New Zealand Tramwaymen's singles championship, for the Mrs. G. Dumbleton Memorial Cup, 1940. The printed layout appears in the June 1940 issue of the periodical 'The Controller official organ of the Auckland Transport Club' p. 56. The working layout has a different arrangement to the final print version.
