Brief History
This 'La' wagon has lost all identification, but it is of the 'La 6' series. 1991 were built between 1931 and 1938. These wagons were in common use throughout New Zealand Railways up until the late 1980s when all 4-wheeled stock were phased out. These wagons were designed for general goods purposes transporting coal, timber, fertiliser and other non-perishable goods, and were considered 'the maid of all works.' It is has a load of 12 tons.
