Description
Silver coloured cast metal machine used to cement soles in shoe making. Black base with grooved cylindrical protrusion to one side. Brass and aluminium elements. Pulley wheel on back with single groove to fit drive belt. Four feet with holes for mounting.
Brief History
This machine was used in the manufacture of children’s shoes by J M Alexander Shoes, Auckland, in the 1960s. The machine, used to cement soles, was attached to a large kauri work bench and powered by a central generator.
