Description
Sewing machine used for sewing buttons in shoe making. Cast metal painted black with upper shallow cylindrical chamber. Machine and six parts for attaching to work bench.
Brief History
This machine was used in the manufacture of children’s shoes by J M Alexander Shoes, Auckland, in the 1960s. The machine, used to sew buttons on, was attached to a large kauri work bench and powered by a central generator.
