Model plate from Mergenthaler Linotype with model number and serial number. Square. Brass with writing on black background. Plate has 4 drill holes, one in each of the corners. The reverse of the plate has remnants of adhesive, from where it was affixed previously.

Brief History

Mergenthaler linotype machines were widely used in the newspaper and printing industries for almost 100 years.
