Description
A telephone with a hard black plastic casing, a black plastic receiver and push button digits. The telephone is a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) model. The Snom 100 model was the first of these VoIP telephones produced by the manufacturers.
Brief History
Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology allows phone calls to be made over a broadband internet connection, rather than an analog connection using copper phone lines. Using VoIP technology, calls can be made from a computer, a standard phone connected to a VoIP adapter, or a VoIP phone, such as this Snom 100 telephone. This phone was purchased by the donor in the early 2000s and used in his business, along with two others, across a 128k ADSL connection between Auckland and Hamilton.
