Description
A cream silk brocade (rose pattern) wedding dress with lace at neck and cuffs and bodice, and glass beads at neckline. Horizontal band at waist of same silk fabric, closure is 3 hooks and fabric loops, oval buckle on front. Dress closure is a single dome and multiple hooks with fabric loops. Beaded tassel at left shoulder. Skirt: features large panel of scalloped lace that comes to point on right hand side, horseshoe with ribbon and pearls, rest of skirt is cream silk with rose pattern. Bundle of scrap fabric located with dress.
Recorded as having been worn on either 4th Feb. 1913 or 28th of Feb 1913. Donated with groom's morning suit (PG221) and two framed wedding photographs which were located and identified during 2015 inventory of Lawler Cottage.
