Description
An H type oxygen face piece attached to a C type flight helmet.
Dark brown soft leather flying cap. One broken rubber, other complete, ear pieces (the other contains speaker marked "A[crown]M / 10A/12401" other speaker attached to cable), leather chin strap and a tan suede interior lining. Adjustment strap on the exterior back of the cap. Leather strap with dome for attaching goggles to helmet.
Khaki green rubber oxygen mask painted brown on exterior and lined in leather. Grey textile strapping with leather fixture with snap domes to attach to helmet. Two holes at bottom of mask with attachments for hoses. Black round metal fixture is speaker for communication system. Round metal vent on left of mask, marked "REF NO. / 10A/12570 / ON / OFF".
Goggles [Mk VIII type]: split-angle lenses in streamlined grey painted brass frames which were hinged in the centre and backed with thickly padded leather cushions, and had an adjustable elastic strap. / Metal framed with padded leather surround and leather nose piece. Metal buckle on straps sides with leather fixture and fabric(elastic?) with metal tightening strap.
