Description
A Type Planning Mallet - "THOR" Thor Hammer Company.
Leather (raw-hide), striking face and head; brown, tight-rolled and riveted. Wooden haft, clear varnished. Head-tapering haft, slightly flared at the bottom. Brand sticker on front of haft close to the head, also '10.0' lengthways at mid-point. 'Size 5' stamped lengthways on the back.
Used to plan type in the letter-press system.
