Personal flying gear of Arthur Frank Tate, Flying Officer No. N.Z. 415387 RNZAF (131 Squadron - 1943-1944). Flying helmet made of dark brown leather which fits from the back and has openings for the ears. The inner sides of these openings are padded and there is a small chin flap. The helmet buckles up under the wearer's chin with a leather strap and buckle arrangement.
