Milking machine, Masport Standard, N.Z. Patent No.70833.
Base plate metal with 4 securing bolt holes. The words Masport Standard are written on the side of the base. On an axle which passes through the centre of the body of the machine, is a metal wheel with 6 metal spokes. The wheel is 495 mm in diameter. Around the perimeter of this wheel is a groove which carries a belt. The belt would be driven by a motor. On the other end of the axle is a smaller heavy metal flywheel 220 mm in diameter. Connected to this pump machine, is a metal cylinder 615 mm high and 280 mm in diameter. This cylinder has access and egress pipes for suction of the milk from the cows into the vacuum tank through the outlet into milk tanks.
The body of the machine is painted red. The vacuum tank is unpainted. A brass plate on the top reads: Important Use Only Light Oil. N.Z. Patent No.70833.
