A quilt in the Log Cabin design. This is a traditional block design which symbolises the hearth of the home. The design is made up of strips of fabric which surround a central square (the symbolic hearth), the square is flanked by dark fabrics on one side and light fabrics on the other side, thus forming a 'block'. Each block is sewn together edge to edge. Around the edge is a cream lace border. The quilt is lined with cream linen.
