Description
The White Cap washer was manufactured by Beatty Brothers Limited. It has a wooden bowl with wringer arrangement on top and is electrically driven. Early electric washing machines were typically made of wood but, fluctuations in the moisture content of the wood caused structural problems. If, a washtub was unused for a while, the staves would shrink causing the vessel to leak.
