Large engine, cylindrical, thinner at back, mounted on black painted metal frame, painted silver.
A turbojet originally developed by Rover, Rolls Royce inherited the design from Rover when they took over their jet engine development in 1943. Derwent was the chosen engine for the Gloster Meteor and many other post-World War II British jet designs.
