A wooden commemorative plaque. The plaque features a central circular emblem with an image of three silver trumpets with red interiors set against a blue background. Surrounding the emblem is a gold coloured rope-like border with the name 'Illustrious' at the top. Above the emblem is a gold and green detail of a ship flanked by two sails. Below the emblem is a gold coloured scroll with black lettering 'Vox Non Incerta'. Embedded in the back of the plaque is a metal hook for hanging. Stamped is: 'Made in Gt Britain'. A white adhesive label with 'Ray Richards' is adhered to the back and a label with the maker or sellers details is also on the back.

'Vox Non Incerta' is a quote from the Corinthians and means 'No uncertain sound'.
