Kiaora Janet, Thank you for your comment. Porcelain fuses like this one have been produced since about the 1880s and had little change in their appearance over the following half a century or so. Thus dating them can sometimes be difficult. Taking a closer look at the text on the fuse I've noted that it is compliant with New Zealand Standard Specification NZS 1951:1965. This standard was published in 1965 and amended twice in the late 1960s. We can therefore say that this fuse was made sometime after 1965. Porcelain fuses in domestic settings have been phased out in favour of circuit breakers. However the New Zealand Insulators Company still produces porcelain insulators, largely for industrial applications.

"Production period 1920s, 1930s" ?? - The switchboard in my 1970s house has an identical one of these. Seems unlikely whoever installed it here would have used something manufactured about 35 years earlier?? Just wondering if the "production period" you've stated for this item needs revising. Cheers.
