Description
A small silver match box. Concave shape. Hinged lid. Front of match box has an engraved stripe pattern with a circle in the centre. Striker strip on base in hollow. There are 18 wax match sticks with blue heads inside. The match box was designed for wax matches, and could be hung on watch chain via a small metal link. Typed note inside the box reads 'BOX for wax matches to hang on watch chain. Given to J.W. Laing by E.F. Flannigan before their marriage approx. 1922.
