Description
This is an Odhner Original pinwheel mechanical calculator. Grey metal casing. number selector switches on front, below this are two separate displays with many dials displaying numbers .Two crank handles on the right-hand side and one on the left. One lever and two white buttons on the front.
According to the donation form it was built around the 1940s. However, online research points to a period of manufacture of 1935 - 1945.
The calculator allows the user to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of numbers. It has a 10 - digit setting register, a 13 digit accumulator register and an 8 digit revolutions register.
It was used by Arnold Morley, who was a surveyor in New Zealand during the 1940s and 1950s.
