White ceramic plate that has a gold trim and a green emblem at the top which says, "IMPERIAL HOTEL / NEW PLYMOUTH". On the base of the plate is a green stamp with an image of a crown and text, "GRINDLEY HOTEL WARE / ENGLAND / VITRIFIED / GIBSONS & PATERSON LIMITED, / NEW ZEALAND". Engraved on the bottom is "8829".
