2-wheeled gig on rubber tyred wheels, finished with a tinted varnish. Ironwork painted grey. Gig, horse-drawn, rubber tyred. Light varnished finish. 3/4 shaft, 3 springs modified to give softer ride. Plate on back. Specially built for Waikato Winter Show about 1920. Made of Mangero timber. Being overhauled by Mr John Broadbent of Broadbents Foodmarket, Avondale. Early 20th century. This gig demonstrates a major development with the use of rubber tyres instead of steel tyres. The passengers had a much smoother (and quieter) ride. Note the 'butterfly wings' construction on the body.
