Description
Carved Kauri block which depicts an open book resting at an angle on its own stand which, in turn, rests on a solid block of Kauri gum. The whole carving is golden brown in colour and translucent. Through the pages of the book the words: "Memory Kauri Gum of N.Z." are clearly visible as being inscribed within the Kauri gum book. On the base of the carving, "1917" is inscribed in reverse.
