Description
Portrait of a woman with two children in a white surround and a dark brown wooden fame. The portrait shows most of the seated woman. She is facing the viewer. She is wearing a dark dress with a belt. A small amount of white is showing above the collar of the dress. A rectangular broach is pinned to the front of the collar. Her left hand is resting on her knee. Her right hand is hidden, probably holding the child on her shoulder and lap. The toddler is standing on his/her mother's knee with his/her head level with his/her mother's head. The toddler is wearing a white apron over a darker coloured, long sleeved dress. Two white strips run around the hem. Under the toddler's feet and to the left of the mother's knees are a bunch of daisy-like flowers. The standing child is to the right. The child is wearing a dark dress with three white stripes around the hem. White strips in a v-shaped pattern are on the yoke of the dress. Above the yoke is a white lace collar. Her hair is tied up with a white ribbon. Her left hand is by her side. She is holding a flower at waist level in her right hand.
