Description
Gold framed painting of Paul Cropper. The portrait is from waist level and shows a seated man, wearing dark framed glasses, dressed in formal clothing. He is wearing a dark coat with light coloured buttons and a lace cravet. The left arm is bent with the handle of a sword between the arm and the body. The sleeve is decorated with bands of lighter colour and shows lace spilling from the sleeve over his hand. In the right background is a curtain. In the left background are two trees, a grassy area and the front of Cropper House. The verbal story is that Paul Cropper was on his way to visit the Queen at the time the portrait was painted.
