Description
Light tan coloured, treated canvas double breasted long coat. Large pocket on either side at waist height, possibly treated for rain proofing, riveted ventilation holes under both arm, beautifully constructed garment on interior, hand written name (W.A. Britton) on collar, brown fabric label below collar shows design stitched in gold coloured thread of crest and words BY APPOINTMENT TO HIS MAJESTY THE KING & H.R.H. THE PRINCE OF WALES. Below this is image of a man (wearing similar coat to this example) in hunting guise (holding gun, two dogs following) enclosed in oval frame in which makers details are printed (J.C. CORDING & Co. Ltd, 19 PICCADILLY & St. JAMES'S St). At top of oval frame is a crown. Date of creation unknown but between 1910-1936 (reign of both King and Prince of Wales).
