Description
This is a 78 RPM speed record player Gramophone. This example has a golden oak case with metal and leaded art glass to the front and a crank handle on the right. The motor wind up is to the front and there is a start/stop pull lever and a speed control lever. A spring motor plays for 7 minutes per wind. The design is in the art-nouveau style. Opening the 2 doors on the front, reveals the Piano Lyre Harp and strings which are supposed to enhance the quality of the sound in some way. At the bottom is a pull out drawer which reveals a 10" turntable with felt that can accommodate 78 RPM records. A gooseneck arm protrudes from the far rear corner and is attached to a small round speaker. Brass tone arm with aluminium Klingsor Sound box with mica diaphragm. There are compartments in the front for spare needles.
