Description
Black and white framed photograph to commemorate the second Trans-Tasman flight by Sir Charles Kingsford Smith in the Fokker F.VIIb/3m. VH-USU "Southern Cross" with Captain P.G. Taylor (co-pilot and navigator), John Stannage (radio), and passengers S.E. Neilsen, and Jack Percival on 11 January 1933. The photograph shows Charles Kingsford Smith facing left and looking at a globe on a pedestal turned to show the flight path. On top of the globe is a model airplane.
