Description
A Richard W. Pearse presentation medal. The medal is round and silver/gold in colour. On the obverse, is embossed a picture of Pearse's early aeroplane with the words: "Richard W. Pearse 1877-1953 Engineer and Aviator" embossed all around. On the reverse: "Museum of Transport & Technology Richard Pearse Pioneer of Powered Flight 1903-1904 Auckland New Zealand". The case is of blue plastic with the words "IATA" printed on the front of the folder. Sandwiched between the front and back of the case, is a transparent plastic cover which holds the medal in a cardboard cut-out. The front cover gives a bit of history about Richard Pearse and to whom the medal was given. On the back cover of the folder, 3 airlines have their names and logos - National Airways Corporation, Air New Zealand and Mount Cook Airways.
