Description
A medal on a ribbon with a coin hanging on the end. The ribbon is tri-coloured, orange in the centre bordered by navy and then red. It has 6 bars on it, starting from top to bottom: - South Africa 1902 - South Africa 1901 - Transvaal - Orange Free State - Cape Colony The medal has the head of Queen Victoria in profile facing left. The words: "Victoria Regina et Imperatrix" are embossed around the perimeter. On the reverse is embossed a lady wearing a flowing dress and a helmet with a plume. Her right hand is stretched forward holding a small wreath. The words: "South Africa" are embossed around.
