Description
U.S.A. (United States of America) Silver Star medal awarded for gallantry in action against the enemy. The medal is a 5-pointed star shaped with another small 5-pointed star in the middle surrounded by a pair or laurel wreaths. The medal is attached to a silk ribbon with red, white and blue stripes. There is a bar on top with a pin at the back to attach the ribbon onto a uniform. On the back of the medal are the words: "For Gallantry in Action". The case is made of hard board, red in colour with a silk and velvet lining.
