Description
Slide rule, the base is made of wood with white scales back and front. On the top there is another scale in the centre which slides parallel to the 2 adjoining scales. On the back is a list of various reference scales. The 2 edges of the slide rule are marked too. One edge is vertical and marked from 0 ~ 28 cm. The other side is sloping and marked from 0 ~ 10 inches. Case is made of cardboard and paper. It has the maker's name stamped on the front with a D.R.P. No.206428 printed under that. On the other side are a set of instructions and some more printing matter.
Brief History
A. W. Faber (later known as Faber-Castell) began making slide rules in 1892. The company began adding a celluloid facing to their wooden rulers from 1897.
