Description
Photocopy of a photo of the scene from the air as the last of the girders for the Auckland Harbour Bridge extensions were being unloaded from the Daikyo Maru on to the storage barge by the two Japanese floating cranes. The girder hanging from the floating cranes is the final link for the western side extensions, and the final link girder for the eastern side is already on the barge. Girders still on the Daikyo Maru are both for the western extensions. Altogether, the Daikyo Maru has made seven trips to Auckland carrying the prefabricated girders for the widening of the bridge.
