Description
-1 Combination Plane: "Rabbit" type, 7 planes in one, made of nickel with hardwood handles and guide. The No.45 has cutters that have profiles which are horizontally symmetrical on each side. Plow, bead, match and sash cutters come with the plane. There are special cutters for the No.45 - reeding, fluting, large bead, extra sash and match, that could be purchased separately. The No.45 has a set of 4 hollow and round soles and a nosing attachment that could be ordered for the plane.

Brief History
Combination planes such as this Stanley example were developed to replace stacks of wooden-bodied molding and joinery planes. Stanley boasted that their #45 model, their best-selling combination plane, was seven planes in one.
