Description
Bottle green, wool, long-sleeved sweater with 5 buttons down the front. The sleeves have patches at the elbows and ribbed at the cuffs. The single pocket on the left breast has an 'A' monogram in yellow embroidery thread. There is an artificial leather band just above the pocket. Makers labels have been torn/ cut off the garment.

Cardigans such as this were worn by Auckland Regional Authority (ARA) bus drivers.

This is an ARA bus drivers cardigan. The stylised “a” is the symbol of the “Auckland Regional Authority” which operated buses and trolleybuses in Auckland 1964-1989.
