Description

Circular cap of blue felt with a white band 38 mm wide along the brim. The top of the cap overhangs the body slightly. Just below the overhang on either side are 2 holes surrounded by metal grommets. The interior of the hat is lined with brown fabric. The brown fabric lining inside the top is gathered with a circular area in the centre not covered revealing a paper lining with the following written in blue ink: "W.T. Billings, Naval Airman, New Zealand". There is a blue fabric chin strap 28 mm wide attached above the grommets on one side and below them on the other.
