Description
Course and Speed calculator
-1 Instrument on a rectangular black base. On one side is a silver rotating disc with a scale from 0-360, on top of which is a clear plastic strip 245 x 28 mm hinged at one end. On the body are 2 black plastic discs, the bottom one of which rotates. Below the discs is written in white: "R.C.A.F. Ref. No. 6B/52, R.A.F. Ref. No. 6B/125, No.ST2420/40".
-2 Wooden box with hinged lid and a metal clasp at the front and a leather handle. The box is a composite of different woods joined with tongue and groove technique. On the interior of the lid are 2 felt-covered rectangular pieces of foam. There is also a black label that says: "Course-Speed Calculator". There are numerous pencil inscriptions of names and numbers, for e.g. "N.H. BENTON" in top right and "Cowan WB 19C, Rusbatch G 24C" on the bottom. The interior of the box has several raised areas and is lined with felt.
