Description
Greyish-blue bag of PVC coated cotton. Slightly trapezoidal in shape with the length of base slightly longer than top edge. There is white piping around the edges of the large sides and they also have identical decoration. "TEAL" is in large, white letters (155 x 74 mm). "NEW ZEALAND's INTERNATIONAL AIRLINE" is in blue underneath (225 x 9 mm). The TEAL logo of a stylised flying fish or Maroro, is in gold after it.
A metal zipper runs across the top and part-way down the sides. Just below where the zipper ends, a shoulder strap is attached by a metal stud on one end and sewn on the other. The sewing is a repair. The strap is 22 mm wide and about 920 mm long at its full length. The length can be shortened by fastening the snap.
The interior is unlined with the exception of the base which has a brown piece of plastic sewn into the bottom. What remains of the stitching is visible from the exterior of the base. There are also 2 cardboard supports 30 mm wide just inside the top. They attach with metal studs visible from the exterior 18 mm from the top. A cream-coloured label has been glued to one of the cardboard supports.
